A WELCOME NOTE FROM THE ORGANISING SECRETARY

DR. STEPHEN AMARJEET JIWANMALL
ORGANISING SECRETARY, MIND MEETS MACHINE
On behalf of the Organising Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the National Symposium on "Mind Meets Machine: Interface of Technology and Psychiatry."
We gather at a time when psychiatry is being transformed by unexpected developments; algorithms aiding diagnosis, chatbots providing initial support, and digital tools aiming to bridge the mental healthcare gap in our country. These are not future possibilities; they are already part of our clinics, research, and patients' lives.
This symposium is our joint effort to thoughtfully and critically engage with this reality, while keeping the core of our field, the human connection between clinician and patient in focus. Throughout this symposium, we will hear from clinicians, technologists, ethicists, and educators who will help us explore where technology can truly enhance psychiatric care, where it falls short, and where caution is needed. I hope these sessions inspire not just intellectual engagement but also honest debate, helping our field progress responsibly.
I sincerely thank our distinguished speakers and panelists for their time and expertise, the organising team for their hard work, and each of you for joining this conversation. I am confident that the discussions here will better prepare us as clinicians, teachers, and researchers, to handle the interface of mind and machine.
